Position Summary
The Strengthening Families Worker / Maternal Child Health Home Visitor provides support to expectant parents and families with young children through home visiting services, education, and family support programming. The position promotes healthy child development, positive parenting, and family wellness.
Key Responsibilities
Family Support & Home Visiting
- Conduct regular home visits with participating families.
- Provide parenting education and support.
- Promote healthy pregnancies and child development.
- Assist families in accessing community resources.
- Support early childhood development and school readiness.
- Encourage healthy lifestyles and family wellness.
Program Delivery
- Maintain client records and documentation.
- Develop family goals and service plans.
- Facilitate workshops and educational activities.
- Participate in community outreach initiatives.
- Prepare reports and program statistics as required.
Qualifications
- Diploma or Degree in Early Childhood Education, Social Work, Nursing, Human Services, or a related field.
- Experience working with children and families.
- Knowledge of early childhood development.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
- Knowledge of Indigenous culture and traditions.
- Ability to work independently and maintain confidentiality.
- Valid Manitoba Driver’s Licence.
- Child Abuse Registry, Adult Abuse Registry, and Criminal Record Checks required.
