Activities Worker

Job Summary

This position reports to the Family Enhancement Supervisor and is responsible for coordinating special activities within the Nisichawayasihk Cree Nation Family and Community Wellness Centre. The role includes planning and delivering activities that promote safe operation and care of materials and equipment needed for planned activities.

Key Responsibilities

Programming & Activities

• Coordinate and facilitate activities for workers, youth, adults, and Elders.
• Ability to book venues and arrange facilities.
• Coordinate team-building activities and events.
• Assist with setting up and organizing activities.
• Coordinate catering services.
• Provide recreational and wellness activities.
• Facilitate educational workshops and materials.
• Attend and complete mandatory SF-Mental Child Health staff training.
• Promote programs in the community and collaborate with local agencies and services.
• Maintain confidentiality regarding family visits and files.
• Provide direct support and advocacy services.
• Facilitate referral services.
• Ensure compliance with relevant safety regulations and standards.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Understanding of Manitoba Workplace Health and Safety Act.
• Experience as a Data Analyst or related role.
• Experience with reporting, correspondence, databases, and software design.
• CPR and First Aid Certification.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Strong crisis intervention skills.
• Proven ability to work as a connected member of a team.
• Strong time-management and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently under pressure.
• Valid Manitoba Driver’s Licence.
• Must possess a valid Manitoba Driver’s Licence and be able to provide a clean Child Abuse Registry/Prior Contact & Criminal Record Check upon hire.
