Position Title: Land Base Team Leader
Location: Nelson House Head Office
Summary:
The Land Base Team Leader reports to the Land Base Supervisor. This position may require travelling by plane, boat, canoe or snowmobile. Including portaging between water, land and barriers within the traditional territory for trapping, hunting and fishing. Also, preparing campsites and other outdoor activities.
Demonstrated Skills & Abilities:
Ability to learn and adapt Land base programming such as:
- Hunting
- Fish filleting
- Setting traps/snares etc.
- Connecting with Elders and peers
- Cultural activities
- Camping
- Fishing
- Hide tanning/ scraping
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Knowledge of Community-based programming and First Nation Culture, traditions and values are considered as an asset.
- Strong communication, interpersonal and organizational skills
- Ability to set priorities and work in a team setting
- Ability to remain positive and enthusiastic while under stressful conditions
- Ability to speak an aboriginal language would be an asset
- A valid Manitoba’s Driver’s License would be an asset
- A criminal record check and Child Abuse Registry is a requirement of all FCWC positions
Hourly Rate: $18.07/ Hour
