Title: COVID-19 Support Worker FT

Job Summary

COVID-19 Support Worker reports to the Pandemic Response Manager. Part of the Pandemic Response Team, you are responsible for the following: checking people in, helping people navigate through the testing process, asking screening questions, assisting the swabbing, stocking supplies, filling in case of forms, isolating clients if needed, filling in daily active monitoring forms and providing other assistance as required. The position of the COVID-19 Support Worker functions in a manner consistent with and supports the Mission, Vision, and Values of the Nisichawayasihk Cree Nation Family & Community Wellness Centre.

Demonstrated Skills & Abilities

  • Experienced in reading and utilizing Electronic Medical Records required.
  • Knowledgeable in Microsoft Suite, Internet programs, and appointment booking system
  • Able to type 45 wpm when typing, to keep and report confidential data and information
  • Organized to ensure the site had appropriate supplies and ordered new supplies when required
  • Promotes safety and health in the workplace and within the community
  • Skillful in sanitizing surfaces between patients and hourly general cleaning of bathroom
  • Having a great interpersonal approach to visitors and answering questions.
  • Works well with others to help assist with training new staff as required
  • Knowledgeable in facility fire/safety/and disaster plans; use of equipment as well as policies and procedures related to security and client safety
  • Maintenance/yard work
  • Performs other duties as assigned


  • Data Entry/clerical experience
  • Keyboarding skills (45 wpm).
  • Knowledge of medical terminology
  • Practical written and verbal communication skills
  • The ability to speak Cree is an asset.
  • Ability to respect and promote a culturally diverse population
  • Ability to work effectively in a multi-disciplinary team and independence
  • Friendly personality and genuine interest in helping others
  • Good physical and mental ability to meet the demands of the position
  • Must have a Valid Class 5 Drivers Licence
  • Able to obtain required training to perform job functions

Salary: $35,339 annually
