Title: Maintenance Worker – Moores Bay – Full-Time Permanent

Job Summary:

Under the supervision of the Human Resource Manager, the Maintenance worker performs a variety of semi-skilled and unskilled tasks in the maintenance, alteration and repair of buildings and related facilities and equipment, as well as performs other related duties as required.


Demonstrated Skills & Abilities:

  • Performs rough-in and finish maintenance on carpentry and metal work.
  • Experienced in plastering on commercial, public and residential buildings.
  • Install, repair assembles and replace wood shelving, doors, windows, building hardware, fencing, gates, roofing systems, floor coverings, and other facility furnishing and fixtures.
  • Knowledgeable in indoor and outdoor painting and preparing surface and equipment brushes, rollers, spray equipment, paints, metal primers, lacquers, and wallpaper.
  • Able to inspect, install, troubleshoot and repair plumbing fixtures, waste lines, and re-building flush valves, sinks, faucets, and valves.
  • Proficient in inspecting, installing, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical fixtures, equipment and related apparatus, including changing ballasts.
  • Skilled in HVAC with the ability to perform maintenance on heating and air conditioning units and related apparatus: filters, blowers and condensing fan blowers.
  • Organizing, Coordinating and Maintaining warehouses, inventories, materials, parts, tools and equipment of building maintenance, and light custodial duties.
  • Procuring parts, materials, and replacements as required or when the price is low.
  • Locating and purchasing non-stock building components required by Building Maintenance workers.
  • Ability to process invoices for payment.
  • Independently determines the most effective storage facility use, restocking salvaged and residue materials.
  • Experienced in operating forklifts, pallet jacks, and delivery trucks.
  • Well-informed in construction, repair procedures and materials used in carpentry, painting, plumbing, electrical, heating, ventilation, and air conditioning.
  • Well-read in safe work practices, first aid, building code, plumbing code, electrical code, and uniform code.



  • Two years of progressive experience in operation, maintenance and repair of building systems and components, or management of building maintenance parts, supply, and inventory.
  • Ability to read, write and perform basic arithmetic calculations,
  • One year as a Building Maintenance worker or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • The ability to speak the Cree language would be an asset
  • A valid Manitoba driver’s license
  • A criminal record check and Child Abuse Registry is a requirement of all FCWC positions.


Salary: $33,210 to $38,601
