Title: Case Aide


Job Summary

This position reports to the Case Manager Supervisor and is responsible for providing services to CFS clients who require CFS services. This includes assessment, crisis intervention, supportive counselling, development of service plans, assistance with basic needs, advocacy and referral services.


Demonstrated Skills & Abilities

  • Assist CFS clients in achieving stabilized home environments and improving their quality of life
  • Provides supportive counselling and crisis intervention to child and family clientele.
  • Assess client needs in the areas of housing, income, social supports, legal, addiction issues and practical needs
  • Develops service plans based on client-identified needs and established tasks and timelines for client-identified needs
  • Complete all necessary case management documentation for client files
  • Develops and implements operational plans which provide for the delivery of consistent, equitable and high-quality services and programs
  • Strengthens existing service delivery systems and identifies new programs and service responses to client needs and service responses to client needs and service demands
  • Ensures that adequate and appropriate human services are available, trained and supported to carry out the responsibilities of the program
  • Develops and implements a program-based budget for client needs and accounts for variations in expenditures from the approved financial plan for client needs. (Build Capacity)
  • Works collaboratively with the Case Management team and other community and related service organizations to achieve program goals and objectives
  • Develops and maintains appropriate management/reporting systems
  • Contribute to the development of an effective and dynamic program management team process
  • Ensures full compliance with Case Management Standards, legislation, regulations, policies, and procedures and continually strives to implement a strategic plan
  • Knowledgeable of the Child and Family Services Act
  • Computer applications related to the work
  • Managing multiple tasks, often with competing deadlines
  • Handling complex and sensitive situations, using sound, independent judgment within specific guidelines and regulations
  • Developing a report with collateral groups to convey information and communication client needs effectively to supervisor, foster parents and co-workers

Specific Accountability

Administrative 25%

  • Filling out “Greenies” for clients
  • Child & Family Services Information System (CFSIS)

Developmental 25%

  • Plans for children for their development for wellness optimum in their lives as well as guiding client needs
  • Formulating service plans to help clients with personal direction in physical, mental and emotional wellness

Operational/Program Management 50%



  • Grade 12 or equivalent
  • Commitment to the circle of Care Model and other FCWC service design
  • Commitment to and knowledge of culturally competent/sensitive delivery issues
  • Well-developed oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Must be able to work cooperatively with members of the unit and other areas of FCWC  employees
  • Must have a high level of personal integrity and professional initiative
  • The ability to speak an Aboriginal language would be an asset
  • A valid Manitoba driver’s license
  • A criminal records check and Child Abuse Registry check is requirements for all FCWC employment positions.
  • The ability to speak Cree is an asset.


Salary: $47,420.00
